RPCRA CEO Announces He Will Retire in December

RPCRA CEO Sean O'Brien Announces Plan for Retirement in December

RPCRA CEO Sean O'Brien has informed the Board of Directors of his intention to retire and confirmed that he will not seek an extension or renewal of his employment contract when it expires on December 31, 2026. Having served the Association for more than nine years, including as Chief Executive Officer since 2023, Sean has shared his sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve RPCRA and his pride in the organization's continued growth and success. Since relocating to Southwest Florida in August 2014, he has grown to appreciate the community in a meaningful way and looks forward to enjoying more of all the area has to offer, while also spending more time traveling.

"Sean has served our association tirelessly, first as CFO and now as CEO, and his leadership has made a lasting impact on all of us. On behalf of the Board of Directors, we're excited for what the rest of the year holds as we move into our new building--an exciting next chapter for our association," said 2026 RPCRA President Shane Spring. "At the same time, we want to thank Sean for his dedication, commitment, and years of service. Wishing him nothing but the very best as he heads into a well-deserved retirement in 2027." The Board's leadership team will begin working with a national search firm to ensure a thoughtful and thorough process in identifying the Association's next successor to guide the Association forward.
