NAR provides specialized training and support for Realtors® who work in this niche market.

Designations

The Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS) certification is for Realtor® who specialize in buying, selling, or management of properties for investment, development, retirement, or second homes in resort, recreational, and/or vacation destinations.

The AHWD certification will help you to learn diversity sensitivity, how to apply fair housing laws in your business, and ways to develop professional guidelines for working with people in the increasingly multicultural real estate market.

The course work for the At Home with Diversity certification is designed to enable you to work successfully with and within a rapidly changing multicultural market. It will help you to learn diversity sensitivity, how to apply fair housing laws in your business, and ways to develop professional guidelines for working with people in the increasingly multicultural real estate market.

The CIPS course curriculum offers you hands-on experience with international real estate transactions, as well as five full days of study focusing on the critical aspects of transnational transactions, including:

  • Currency and exchange rate issues
  • Cross-cultural relationships
  • Regional market conditions
  • Investment performance
  • Tax issues

To be eligible for the CIPS Designation, you must complete 5 courses as outlined below. The designation application must be submitted within 3 years of beginning your courses. Any courses completed more than 3 years prior to the submission of your application must be retaken to receive credit towards the education requirement of the designation.

Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designees are REALTORS® who have undergone specialized training focused on conducting business in the international real estate arena.

However, it's important to note that continuing education (CE) courses are excluded, which are typically more focused on specific professional learning and certifications.
